    Tom Conklin

    Hey there BOOMers!

Tom Conklin here. I’m a guitar player with better than three decades of picking and strumming under my belt. There’s something about that sentence that just doesn’t sound right. Anyway, I play lead guitar for the The Mathstick Architects. I’m Berkshires based (Pittsfield, MA), and my band members are from nearby parts of New York and Connecticut. As you may have figured out by now, I am also one of the founding members of BOOM. I am so excited about our mission! I know this is going to be a big deal. It has to be. The Berkshires needs this so badly, and I am happy to be part of this wonderful organization!

You may also know me as the radio news voice of the Berkshires… and I have my own business doing voiceover narration. http://www.tomconklinvoice.com

What BOOM Does.

BOOM is dedicated to increasing the viability and visibility of original music in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. We are a non-profit company, part of Columbia Arts Team.

Our mission is to highlight, showcase, and cultivate the original music scene in Berkshire County and environs. This includes promoting local venues that feature local original music; providing access to information about the music business, songwriting, and other important subjects of interest to area musicians; and coordinating resources within the region, including local media, in order to promote local original music and encourage the patronage and support of the community at large.
