The workshop is currently on hold. We are looking to restart sometime in February. Please check our What’s Happening page and our facebook page for updates.
All levels of songwriters are welcome to share works in progress, ask questions and learn the latest info about music craft or the music business, and get constructive critiques that will make your songs more effective and/or marketable, at the BOOM Songwriting Workshop, every Tuesday evening, at the BOOM Room in Pittsfield.
Moderated by veteran songwriter and BOOM co-founder Sandy McKnight, anyone who writes, or wants to write songs, is welcome to join the group. The cost is $15 per session or 6 sessions for $75. The class is held every Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at The BOOM Room, Crawford Square, 137 North Street, Pittsfield.
Sandy has run workshops at HVCC for 15 years and uses an approach that encourages new writers and challenges experienced ones.  He also discusses subjects like licensing, publishing, recording, and other topics important to today’s songwriters.
The new cycle begins January 10th. We can sign up no more than 10 songwriters per cycle, and accommodate an additional 5 sit-ins each night.
To sign up:
Call Sandy at 310-490-5744 or inquire by email at sandy@sandymcknight.net
Payment can be made by cash, Paypal or credit card.

“Sandy was well-versed in songwriting and presented the material in an easy-going manner. He was very professional and made everything understandable. I learned a lot from his course.” – Deb Cavanaugh, Member at The Children’s Music Network

“Sandy McKnight is a musical visionary. He not only writes the type of song you hear once and cannot get out of your head, but is also a confident, prolific and sensitive music producer and arranger able to work in many styles. I have seen him pull together teams of experienced musicians in a pinch, and I have seen him discover, inspire and nurture new talent.” – Yvette Kaplan, Co-Creator, EP: Zack and Quack; Animation Director of Beavis and Butthead and Ice Age

“Working with Sandy was a pleasure. He has great ideas and a great ear. He always delivered more than he promised and was punctual every step of the way. I highly recommend Sandy.” – Lucia D. Owner, The Art of Love
